BE: Tell us a bit about yourself:
CCP: I am an artist from Cornwall and I recently just graduated from AUP. My practice is centered in healing my inner child and getting in touch with repressed emotions. I am very focused around art that makes you happy even when you're not. Playful colour palettes, happy faces and soft shapes to help you feel better. I make spot illustrations, children's illustrative work and repeating tile patterns all with the goal of self healing and bringing joy.

BE: I love seeing such positive vibes and encouragment of play in commercial practices! What would you say is your biggest anti burnout tip to avoid struggling with your practice?
CCP: Find something that is an easy as water for you. When I'm burnt out I can sometimes barely even draw the usual stuff. But I have my bird illustrations that are as easy to me as breathing and my repeating patterns are an exercise in not burning out. A task that takes at most 20-30 minutes of drawing and you can then immediately turn it into a product is a great way of feeling a sense of achievement.
When you set yourself something small and achievable you'll be better about yourself for having finished it.
